Welcome to our new customers and hello again to our old friends. Congratulations to you for being wise enough to subscribe to our newslter in order to receive exclusive coupons and discounts for items all over the store, as well as other useful info.

Bravado Nursing Sale - 3 Days Only!

We have decided to stop carrying Bravado products, for a variety of reasons. One of the largest reasons is that they are extremely restrictive to retailers in their policies. We may not set the retail price below the current price on our website, including sales/discounts/promotions. We may not only not sell their products on Ebay, but we must not be affiliated with any auction site in any manner.

And the list goes on. Add to this that their products can be found everywhere and, while they may be the most supportive nursing bra on the planet, they are thankfully no longer the sexiest… So, we just decided to move to greener pastures. Keep your eyes out for our new nursing bras, including Bella Materna and our Eva Lillian designed nursing bras for larger bust sizes and sex-appeal.

This decision translates into huge savings for you, that you are guaranteed not to find elsewhere (because no one who wants to continue carrying their products is allowed to sell them so low). Saturday August 21st-Monday August 23rd only, enjoy 25% off any Bravado item left in stock. No need for a coupon, your discount will be taken automatically at checkout.

Happy Birthday to Eva!

Not the store, the namesake! My little baby turns 1 this week. I can't believe it, it seems like only yesterday I was in the newborn euphoria with that squirming, mewling little cupcake in my arms (or the sling) at all times. And last night I was up past midnight baking cupcakes to take to her caregiver's with her today. I just cannot express to you all how quickly it goes (which I know you don't believe in those first few sleepless nursing-marathon weeks, or the next few sleepless months!), and how much you'll wish for it back when it's gone.

But, every new stage brings with it magic and wonder as well, and since she started walking and signing to us a little over a month ago it's been nothing but hilarity in our home. I woke up the other morning, half an hour early I might add, to a whining/whimpering noise. I cracked an eye and she was kneeling right next to my head, staring down at me and desperately signing "eat"! I cracked up and groaned and signed "milk" back to her. She settled for nursing and then played quietly and I got that last blissful half hour. :)

Interesting Info

As always, we’ve been busy adding some very interesting content to our site. Here is a sample of one of our new articles:

The Power in a Gathering of Women
or
Handling Stress in Pregnancy and Postpartum

by
Eileen McDargh, CSP, CPAE

Forget "fight or flight" as the only duo of responses in the face of stress. For women, there's a third response: "befriend". A landmark UCLA study turned five decades of stress research on its head with the revelation that a cascade of brain chemicals gives women a larger behavioral repertoire when confronted with stress.

The hormone oxytocin is released as part of the stress response in women. It controls the fight/flight response and, instead, encourages her to tend children and gather with other women.
According to co-researcher Dr. Laura Cousino Klein, now assistant professor of bio-behavioral health at Penn State, the study suggests that this "tending and befriending" response to oxytocin produces a calming effect. Although it will take new studies to reveal all the ways in which oxytocin encourages women to care for children and band together, it might also explain why women consistently outlive men.

I have addressed numerous women's conferences and corporate networks of women and I can attest to the observable behavior that participants leave these sessions feeling stronger, encouraged, and positive. I believe they also leave healthier. The famed Nurses Health Study from Harvard Medical School found that the more friends people have, they less likely they are to develop physical ailments and the more likely they are to cope better with challenges.
Lastly, we always welcome feedback from our customers and potential customers. If there is anything we could improve, if there is anything we don't offer that you would like to see us offer, if there is anything we can do to make your shopping experience at Eva Lillian more pleasant, please let us know immediately.

Sincerely,
Jessica Hudson
