Introduction
Hi, it's Jessica here. Sweet little ol' me saying hi for the first time.
Ok, let's see if I have any tidbits for you. Our family life is busy but pretty boring. The store sucks up all time and money, so we live tired and poor most of the time, lol. But, those are the perils of your first year in business, so... And we will be celebrating our first year in business next month! But we won't do the whole one-year celebration thing until March, since that's when the store opened. But this is supposed to be about non-store stuff, right?
I'll give you one of the Julianisms I heard this week. A Julianism is one of the cutey-patootey little things I hear out of my 3 year old's mouth on an almost daily basis anymore.
He was riding in the back of the mini-van (yes, I drive a mini van and I'm no longer embarrassed to admit it) and almost mumbling to himself yesterday on the way home from school. (He's in a half day Montessori program) He said, "I wish I could build something like that. I've dreamed of this my whole life." I almost roared right there, and had to call Jay to tell him about it on the spot. He's just SO cute.
And Eva got a stomach bug over the weekend and is having trouble shaking it. But she's still her cute as a button self. Julian's been having trouble sleeping in his room for maybe 2 months now. He'd end up in the family bed with the rest of us every night. Only, despite it being a king, there just wasn't enough room and he'd end up kicking Jay out of bed. So, the weekend before last while Jay was working I put our bed back up on the frame (Eva's not going to roll out on the hardwood floors anymore) and put Julian's be in right beside it. So now our room is wall-to-wall bed.
Julian's sleeping great, Jay's between me and the wall with no little feet in his ribs, so he's sleeping great, and Mommy has her babies near-by so I'm sleeping great. It's a win-win-win-win situation!
So last night we were heading to bed, flipped on the hall light to assess child positioning so we didn't lie right on top of someone, and Julian and Eva were both sleeping right next to each other on my pillow. It looked like they were cuddled right up. That kind of thing just melts your heart. Yes, it's hard having two under two years apart, but it's moments like that that makes you just love having two, no matter what the spread.
That's it for now. Tune in for the next installment, when I get a minute, which means probably about a year from now! :)
