Why is there so little nursing clothing available?

We got a very good question from a visitor this month, and realized it might be good to share the question and the answer with our customers. So, here goes:

Q: Hi, like the clothing, but it seems like you're out of everything nursing related? Are you discontinuing?

A: No we are definitely not discontinuing all nursing. The trouble is, we carry only really superb things, and it is close to impossible to find really superb things, especially at a reasonable price. Add to that that the superb stuff sells faster than we can restock it, and it's a recipe for always being backordered.

We have discontinued selling Bravado products. They are extremely restrictive with their policies, and frankly you can find them anywhere on the net! The market is saturated, which means they don't sell very well (and they don't let you reduce the price), but you need to keep a large inventory on hand to cover their large variety of sizes.

And when it comes down to it, they may be "some of the most comfortable nursing bras out there", but they still are not very comfortable as far as bras go. Not to mention the style isn't great (with the high racer back you can't wear half of the things that are trendy right now). We are also considering discontinuing Glamourmom for similar reasons.

We have started our own line, which we are very excited about, but we underestimated the number of problems we would encounter with production, and its popularity. So the 2 measly pieces we've introduced thus far have been on backorder since we released them about 2 months ago, and we're so far behind on those we haven't released anything new yet. But we've contracted with a new production company and are hoping to get several new pieces out before May.

We have also recently worked out an agreement with a new company to sell a few of their things (including nursing swimsuits), and Larrivo, the designer of the 3 newest nursing tanks on our site, is sending us some slipdresses for our next photo shoot next month. This Spring we'll also be adding a new designer, Momzee, for both Nursing and Maternity, and hopefully a few more.

We'll be getting some VERY sexy nursing lingerie from Maya Maternity (the designer of our current sexy maternity lingerie) and some further options from Mommy Chic, the designer of the very popular nursing pajamas on our site.

So, we have a lot in the works for Spring, it just isn't evident yet. :)

We love to hear your feedback and respond to all such inquiries.

Thanks
