What are we doing for Katrina victims?
Making self-announcements about how a business is helping in the aftermath of the hurricane is almost trite at this point, and I didn't even want to comment. But my staff berated me until I finally do so now.
Beginning the day the flooding was apparent and the red cross began requesting donations, I vowed that a portion of every sale would go to help the victims of Katrina, until the city is dry and people are able to begin returning to their homes and rebuilding their lives. We'll be making weekly donations, and have in fact already made 1 at this point. I even attempted to become a breastmilk donor for the tiny babies that lost their mothers, but ironically I am not eligible as I the baby I am nursing is not under 12 months. (If you'd like to donate breastmilk to a local milk bank please visit www.hmbana.com for more information)
Not a marketing ploy, didn't send a special email to announce it, just love and shared agony pouring out from our hearts here at Eva Lillian...
